Wow!

WOW! What is this? It has a strange shape! Is it art? Or maybe it’s just broken? Or past its expiry date? It doesn’t look like anything we know. Best not to look. It might be a hallucination, or something dangerous—or maybe it’s art that’s not good for you. And that over there? A piece that won’t stay still on the wall? Oh, I might faint. Better be careful and look with your eyes closed. Some artworks tickle your eyes, others make you want to dance, or laugh out loud. But there are also those that leave you dizzy, wanting to sit down and just say: “WOW!”

WOW! is a guided tour through museums and museum spaces, based on Stendhal syndrome, a psychosomatic "condition" triggered by exposure to art of intense beauty. It’s a walking performance aimed at teachers and students in primary school, created in collaboration with visual artists Sara & André, costume designer Inês Ariana, and musician George Silver.
